I raised my family in Oak Park, and both of my children attended Mann, Brooks and Oak Park River Forest High School. They both pursued their degrees in education and became school-teachers. Michael taught 5th grade in Oak Park and Jennifer taught early education at Disney School in Chicago. I raised my children as a single Mom and understood that a good education was important and providing your child with their basics needs is essential however not always affordable. However. Amity School Children’s Aid has been fulfilling that gap for over 100 years. A child in need of glasses that Amity provides, can make a vital difference in their academic performance. I believe in supporting Amity’s mission and am truly grateful that Amity provides services to help make children successful now and for years to come.
Focusing on children’s health and well-being, Amity provides essential services making a difference in the lives of children for over 100 years. I am honored to be part of this process, and to continue to support children in need of life changing services. In collaboration with schools and families in identifying gaps, Amity provides services that support children’s potential for growth and development on their life path.

School is one of the most important experiences in life. Anyone struggling with anything that makes learning harder, such as a need for eyeglasses, hearing aids, supplies, clothing, let's make it easier. All my thanks to Amity for offering us a way to do this, to help children and families who need help to cover these expenses. I'm happy to support Amity and all you do to support our schools, our children and our families.

HONORED - School Staff 2018
We honor all school nurses and social workers in Oak Park and River Forest public schools. They are our frontline partners who maintain the pulse of the children in need in our schools.
Amity assists families who have exhausted their means to provide eye care for their children. Amity is confidential and dignifies those in need. I am proud to support Amity and their work in OPRF.

Amity has a special place in my heart. As a child, struggling with sight issues, I have first-hand experience of how vision can impact learning and self-esteem.

I've supported Amity for almost a decade. So often, little things that can get overlooked can have a large impact on a child’s learning, self confidence or sense of security. Amity’s mission and resources fill this gap in our community. It’s these little things that make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
Via the dedicated, all-volunteer women who helm this vital charity - devoting time, talent & resources to support their community - essential items are provided to OPRF school children in need. Since 2008, Amity has been tops on my list of causes to support!

We should never assume that a child has all they need, simply based on first impressions. Amity has committed itself to the betterment of our local school children who need a little bit extra to meet their daily needs – a supremely admirable cause. I am grateful and honored to be a part of this community and to support this tremendous organization.

I know from my husband’s 2nd grade experience that his teacher recommending he needed glasses significantly changed his life. I’m happy to support Amity’s dedication to providing glasses to children.
